I'm using the film back to the future.
The second is a theory about genre: Henry Jenkins made a theory that the genre is constantly breaking the rules of the genre. Most people would agree that back to the future is a sci-fi film. it follows the theme of time travel which makes it a sci-fi film but it breaks the rules because apart from the time machine everything else is pretty normal. The film is filled with normal iconic 80s items.
Blumler and Katz's theory was using and gratification theory (audience). I would say the film is an escapism. Although it is all set on Earth with normal humans but the events that happen in the film are things that wouldn't normally happen.
The final theory is Todorov's theory of narrative devolopment.
Although the film travels through time it still follows Todorovs narrative theory. Martys life is pretty normal then he travels in time and gets stuck in the past. He then needs to get home.
In the scene they are at a car park, the prop is the delorean, the characters clothes are their iconic outfits, they don't have any make up on because its normal. Marty looks confused and Doc looks excited to show Marty the time machine.
Cinematography, the camera shows mainly doc and marty then lower shots focusing on the delorean.
Editing, shows the time machine lots then cuts back to Marty's reactions.
Finally, the sound in the scene is mainly music with the noise from the time machine. There is some dialog from Marty as he reacts to whats happening.
